Reviewed bus services: new timetable specifications are issued for tender by Cambs County Council
Following a process of community engagement and discussion through a Working Group, several bus services under review are now at the penultimate stage of the process where new timetables have been designed and issued for tender.
The following bus services are currently out for tender:
31 (Barley - Fowlmere – Cambridge/Addenbrooke’s Hospital)
75 (Wrestlingworth - Orwell – Cambridge/Trumpington P&R)
The tender process takes approximately 4 months and final timetables will be dependent on the costs of bids returned. Further information will be available around April 2015. All existing services will remain in place until a new service commences as an alternative.
The timetables for these services have had changes made so please check out the proposed new timetables on the 'Working with the Community' page on Cambridgeshire County Councils website at http://www4.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/cft The new timetables will be advertised locally prior to when the new service is due to start.

Tree works by the Cam and Riddy
In order to meet the aims of the approved Rivers Corridor Ecology Management Plan associated with the Hauxton Meadows development, a large amount of tree works will be taking place in the near future and this represents the first phase of managing the tree stock and letting more light into parts of the river environment.

Community Transport Scheme
From 1st February, Hauxton will join Royston & District Community Transport Scheme. This scheme offers door-to-door transport for people living in Royston and the surrounding villages of North & East Hertfordshire and South Cambridgeshire who are unable to use conventional public transport and do not have the use of a car.
Volunteer drivers provide transport using their own cars and the scheme also operates two wheelchair-accessible minibuses and a four/six seat Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV). There are 5 Hauxton based drivers.

Fibre Broadband has arrived in Hauxton

Hauxton-Trumpington cycle path
The long-awaited Hauxton-Trumpington cycle path, through what will be Trumpington Meadows Country Park, opened today 12 November.
This is a 'soft opening' without fanfare, and there will be periods of closure ahead due to construction traffic on the site. There is also little signage as yet other than the red sign at the start, just the motorway side of Hauxton bridge (see photo - click on image for larger version).
Nevertheless, for now it is open to us all and offers a safe and beautiful alternative route to the A10/M11 roundabout crossing. Click on the map image below for a full size map of the route.
